I suggest that you start mentally appending “in bed” and “in my pants” to the end of sentences, and offering rebuttals to statements with “that’s what she said!”. This will only work as long as you manage not to say it out loud.

This is my pet peeve in meetings. If all you’re doing is reading what’s on the slide, send the deck and stop wasting my time with a meeting . I know how to fucking read.

I might have put that differently. But I can read the slide in a small fraction of the time it takes you to read it aloud.

Death by PowerPoint. Some teachers use PowerPoint and make their students copy it down. In college, we expect such laziness. In younger grades, it’s cruel and unusual punishment.

yeah that’s my point if you’re going to do a powerpoint, make it engaging or leave out your discussion points so you can have a real presentation.

My theory is if the powerpoint gives 100% of the information and you’re just up their clicking through the slides, you’re not needed for the meeting and then a meeting probably didn’t need to happen.

Or just leave some parts out. If I do a presentation it may have either a topic and graphic that I speak to or it’ll have 3 out of my 5 points on that topic so that my presence in the room is still more useful than a slide change timer.

Automotive Advertising (over 10 years covering multiple brands and pretty much all mediums now). There have been some extremely boring meetings over the years but thank god they aren’t as prevalent as they are in more business-y environments.

Solid guess, Google maps has a rough estimate of about 2400 miles. I’m in the Detroit area. If you’re out this way I’d be happy to. There’s plenty of Auto Ad jobs out there, and quite a few on the west coast too. It’s a cool field to be in for people like us.

I actually do almost no IRB stuff. I interface with Biosafety and IACUC in my work (recombinant DNA and mice). The person responsible for that was sick today and couldn’t come, so I sat through all the stuff I don’t need and got none of the stuff I do.

At least I got lunch.

Oh damn, that’s shitty. We just finished our annual iacuc and fda and eh&s inspections. I’m still at work, so they must have gone okay lol. They usually have it out for us since we are the only group left doing large animal work here

So glad I don’t have to worry about the USDA inspections . They have a fair bit of large animal here; so it’s an issue, but not for me! Thank goodness we have animal people worth their weight in gold running the ARU .
